I am pretty sure that I am probably not the only to notice, but soulja boy isnt using the name soulja boy, hes using dre, and that says something.

I understand what you mean and people seem to be overlooking the deep meaning of the transition. Under Soulja Boy tellem he was releasing songs that were silly and hyphy, with no tats and just a general emphasis on getting krunk. Under SBeezy and Dre he has become a bit more serious, listen to his songs fire it up, and gucci wings and Kush on deck, he is no longer rapping about doing a dance or pulling up his pants, but more about blowing on the purp, doing work and making dough. This is name change isnt neccesarilly the impetus for change but it does signify a paramount shift in the way Dre produces music and delivers beats. The more serious name goes hand in hand with targeting a more hardcore audience while still retaining his loyal Fanbase. SODMG for life
